Can you believe it's August 1st tomorrow?

Well, what better way to bring July to a close then by celebrating Christmas in July?
To gather a few things from the Christmas containers - stored away for months ahead.
To watch a Christmas classic as we enjoy some Christmas sweets!  Oh, how fun!
Mom being out of town, all of us kids baked a few holiday desserts and put together a
little treat table for a fun evening together with our Aunt.

Melting Snowmen Cookies

Where we live, we only dream of building snowmen!
If we could even find snow somewhere in Arizona, I don't think snowmen would last very long.
Maybe they'd look something a little like this!

Chocolate Peppermint Sandwich Cookies

Chocolate... peppermint... two delicious winterland flavors!

Chocolate Fudge

Anna made a batch of our favorite chocolate fudge that we make and enjoy every year at Christmas.
Rich, creamy and oh, so tempting!

Red Velvet Cheesecake Brownie Bites

A yummy and festive, bite-sized dessert perfect for the season.

What a fun evening we had together!
Who knows, this may have to become a tradition!

"Dulces" Treat Table

Hola amigos!

This month we had the pleasure of providing a fiesta sweets table for a ladies' taco night event at our church.  Many women attended, ready to fellowship, taco, and what we thought was super neat - put together "Ziplove" bags... which we'll tell you more about below.

Some ladies from church decorated
the stage to bring in the theme.

We were very excited with the opportunity to cater our first  fiesta treat table!

For this event's menu we tried a few new recipes and desserts, and I have to say, the churro truffles (photo below) were a hit!

We tried our best to reinvent the well-loved churro into a smooth, bite-sized, creamy version...

Cupcakes, cupcakes & more cupcakes!

We made Tres Leche Cupcakes topped with either toasted coconut, chocolate shavings or a cherry.
We also made Chocolate Cupcakes with Salted Caramel Buttercream.

"Fiestive" Decor

It's super neat when you can incorporate edible decorations for a display...
especially for a sweets table!

Cactus Cake Pots

We made these cute little fellows by baking chocolate cake into terracotta pots.
Placing a chocolate cupcake on top we then piped green frosting for our cactus.

We used little limes to stick our dessert label picks into.

So "Fiestive"

The tissue paper flowers were such a festive and colorful decoration to the treat table.

"Ziplove" Bags

Recently, we've come across more and more people and even families, standing on street corners and intersections holding signs reading "Homeless... need help... God bless."

With temperatures reaching so high in the summer, there is a greater need and opportunity to help these people.  Although funds may be the top request, water, sunscreen,  hand sanitizer, soaps and items like these are very helpful and often a necessity .

That's when a "Ziplove" bag comes in handy!
These "Ziplove" bags are a wonderful way to be prepared where ever we are with a variety of items for use by those we may come across.

Many products that we decide to put into these baggies will meet their physical needs, that's great!
But don't forget that we have an opportunity to share God's love and to minister to these people by feeding them spiritually as well.  Placing verses of hope and encouragement, or even Bibles, are a good way to plant seeds of the gospel to these people.

Praise the Lord, there were so many donations in which, were used to fill hundreds of "Ziplove" Bags!

Austin is one smart cookie!

We had the opportunity to make a large cake
and cookie platter for a graduation party the end of May.

We made this right before we left for Chicago to help with

our family's TOP SECRET - law-enforcement graduation party, which we posted just a little while ago.

It was such a cute treat table for such a fun event

that I just couldn't wait to post about it!

You can read all about it here.

But, Shhh, it's TOP SECRET! :)

Well, back to this post shall we?

We made some cute paper cut-outs to top the desserts.

Cookies

For the cookie tray we put together an assortment...
snickerdoodle, tuxedo, and iced sugar cookies.

The decorated sugar cookies really added a lot and made the arrangement pop.

If you haven't guessed already, school colors were black and gold.

The Graduation Cake

A large, two-layer, chocolate cake, frosted with vanilla buttercream, sprayed for a tint of gold, then embellished with black sixlets candy and topped with our graduation paper cut-outs and picks.
Congratulations, hats off!

Shhh... it's Top Secret!

We traveled to Chicago to see family and help prepare a law-enforcement themed treat table for a graduation party.

We for months, minds together, planned this super fun event table.

Care to take a peek?

Treat Table

Of course we had to feature doughnuts...

And believe me, lots of them!

"Donovan Donuts"

We decided to name our doughnuts in honor of William Donovan,
The Father of American and Centralized Intelligence.

We included a brief history of Mr. Donovan, nicknamed, "Wild Bill",
on a paper coffee cup cut-out, then pasted it next to our cute Donovan Donuts sign.

We made glazed chocolate and cinnamon sugared doughnuts.

American Justice Pies

Bright cherry and blueberry mini pies with a small star cut-out.

Vanilla Badge Cookies

Vanilla, badge-shaped cookies, iced and topped with shiny, metallic sugar crystals.
Picture

M.O. Munch

A peanut butter, butterscotch cereal mix, packaged in adorable
brown paper bags, folded shut with EVIDENCE labels.
Picture
The printed EVIDENCE labels turned out well, they added so much to the brown paper bags... SO CUTE!
Picture

Smoking Gun Cupcakes

Super fun to make, we topped our chocolate cupcakes with edible, chocolate guns.
Picture

Just for fun...

We thought of this idea a day before the party, and I'm glad we used it!
For our "TOP SECRET" manilla file folder, we took a snapshot of the graduate, Aaron, taking a bite out of a powdered doughnut for our "Doughnut Caper" Case.  Look at that guilty face! :)  We printed the photo out, and stuck it into the
"TOP SECRET" folder... wait, don't tell anybody!

Code Red Cookies

Red velvet cookies strewn with bright, white chocolate chips.
These cookies surely popped on the treat table!

The finished treat table!

We had such a fun and wonderful time planning this law-enforcement sweets table.
Baking the desserts and seeing it all put together was even more fun!

Picture Time!

Smile, say cheese!

Outdoor Crime Scene

Decorating with chalk outline figures and police caution tape was a really fun way to create an outdoor crime scene atmosphere.

A line-up backdrop was a fun "photo game" for party guests.
