May 18, we celebrated
Carrot cake day, aka, Dad's birthday!
Our Steakhouse Menu
Hmm, couldn't decide which potato photo I liked best... so I'll post both:)
On to the carrot cake!
If you haven't noticed already, we are really having fun with paper pinwheels lately!
They make such cute, customized decor for so many occasions!
We made one to stick into our Dad's cake by using burlap paper and gluing a paper carrot cut-out to the front of the burst.
We candied shredded slices of carrots to dress up the cake with.
We made a really refreshing pineapple sorbet to go along with the carrot cake, which was a delicious accompaniment to our dessert plate.
Someone is ready for a slice!
Happy birthday, Daddy!
How special you are to us!
Take a peek!
Wedding colors were shades of purple and a splash of green, so we incorporated those two into the cookie table... such a pretty combination with burlap and lace.
Decadent chocolate cookies strewn with white chocolate chips.
Toasted Coconut Lime Cookies
Beautiful ribbons of toasted coconut and lime green dough, baked together to create such a pretty cookie.
Deliciously spiced cookies rolled in turbinado sugar.
Chocolate Chip Cookies
You just can't forget this old-time favorite!
Peanut Butter Cookies
For those lovers of peanut butter.
Buttery, round, lemon cookies rolled in pretty sanding sugar.
Another traditional cookie you just can't leave out!
Buttery heart cookies, iced and topped with crystal sugars.
Gorgeous for such an occasion!
We also put together a cute little groom's cake.
We stacked peanut butter cookies to create the tier, we then wrapped each layer with burlap and lace ribbon.
Finished it off with a fun burlap and lace paper pinwheel, that made such an adorable topper!
On to the cookie table set-up!
This was such a great opportunity for us.
National Pretzel Day!
April 26, is National Pretzel Day.
What's a better way to celebrate than to make and enjoy a batch!
Click below for our kid-friendly soft pretzel recipe!
Pretzels are a well-known snack food, but you can personalize this recipe by adding your favorite ingredients, for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Kids love rolling, shaping, forming, and just being creative!
