Happy Mother's Day!
Every second Sunday in May, we TRY. I must say some years we have been more "successful" than others. I think the surprises were best kept this year... YAY! On Saturday, our Mom had a few appointments and activities scheduled by our wonderful sidekick, Aunt Louise, leaving us plenty of time to prepare and bake for the next morning.
Counting down the minutes, we checked as many things off the list as we could. Bake cupcakes - check, make grapefruit shortbread - check, cut out paper pennants - check, bake cinnamon roll pie pops - check.
One problem, where to hide it all. :) After sheet pans, platters, cake dishes and more were hidden around the house (all in places where Mom would not find... hopefully) Mom arrived back home and we continued on with our day's activities. :) The next morning we finished the little details - piped cupcakes, freshly baked doughnuts, brewed coffee and set up the brunch treat table. It was so fun!
Chocolate Espresso & Spiced Maple Bacon
Grapefruit Shortbread Hearts
Cinnamon Roll Apple Pie Pops
"Love You A Latte"
Vanilla-Almond Salted Caramel Cupcakes
We enjoyed the tasty food and the fun surprises but we cherish most of all our family time and what a blessing it is to celebrate the most loving, tender-caring, godly example the Lord has so graciously given to us.
We all are so very blessed to call you Mom!
